What D-Day sites and museums are worth visiting?

About 30 minutes from the campsite, the towns of Sainte-Mère Eglise and Carentan are historically known as being emblematic of the Normandy landings. There are various museums and themed attractions: D-Day Experience with its giant 3D screen, Airborne Museum (tickets available at reception), Normandy Victory Museum, Azeville Battery, the airship hangar, Utah Beach and the D-Day Museum.
