Campsite with a pond in the Manche
Are you looking for a campsite with a fishing pond in Normandy? Look no further! L'Étang des Haizes may be the destination for your next fishing holiday in the heart of the Cotentin, in the Manche.
A fishing pond open to all, without a licence!
What could be better than a fishing spot right at your holiday destination? Make the most of your camping holiday in the Manche region of Normandy to go fishing and enjoy your passion without any restrictions.
The pond is freely accessible and reserved for campsite guests. Fishing is allowed without a licence or fishing card, just for fun and without competition. You will fish mainly for carp, which we ask you to handle with care and to release.
We also ask you to limit yourself to 2 fishing rods per person, to have hooks without barbs and to equip yourself with a landing net to avoid damaging the fish.
Beware of greedy ducks that will come and ask you for pieces of bread or other bait!
Camping and fishing, what better way to get closer to nature
Being at the water's edge is a joy for everyone. As soon as the weather is fine, fishing enthusiasts, young and old, gather at the edge of the pond. People come to fish, of course, but also to enjoy a moment of peace and quiet, to share their passion with other holidaymakers.
We often associate fishing with a leisure activity, but it is also a sport that requires both the body and the mind, especially when the fish are difficult to catch... Some carnivores could well put your arms to the test. The French Federation of Sport Fishing (FFPS) regularly organises departmental and regional fishing competitions.
A convivial, zen and friendly activity
Angling is one of the best natural stress relievers! It is an excellent way to relax and spend time in the open air, at weekends or during the holidays, usually with friends or family. You can spend hours looking at nature and focusing on the moment. It is also a good opportunity to share stories and knowledge about fishing and nature.
As night approaches, it's time to pick up your gear. The campsite bar is still open to discuss the day's exploits or the next day's plans. Fishing is unique in that it brings generations together and creates memories and friendships that last over time.
5 tips for starting carp fishing
1. Use natural baits such as corn kernels, earthworms or maggots to attract carp
2. Use floats to indicate the carp's movements when biting the bait.
3. Use monofilament fishing lines to avoid breaking the line when the carp pull on the line.
4. Use leaded hooks to keep the bait at the bottom of the water where the carp are feeding.
5. Fish at times when the water temperature is high, such as in summer, to maximise your chances of catching a carp.
Good fishing to all and see you soon at the water's edge!
