Amongst the unmissable visits of your stay in our camping, the landing beaches receive every year millions of visitors, who come to these places of memory where the emotion is still present. Enjoy your stay in La Manche to dive into the heart of the battle of Normandyand discover this real open air museum.

More than 70 years later...an open air museum!

Less than an hour away from the camping, join the most famaous landing beaches of Normandy : Omaha Beach, Gold Beach, Juno Beach, Utah Beach et Sword Beach. Between each beach, take the time to stop near the numerous vestigeswhich recall the terrible battle of Normandy: german bunkers, military and memorial cemeteries, artificial harbours... On these large expanses of sand, it is difficult to imagine that on the dawn of June 6, 1944, more than 150,000 American, British, Canadian and French soldiers landed, supported by a powerful armada of 5,000 ships and 10,000 aircraft.

D-Day's historic highlights to discover

If you have decided to book your camping holidays near the d-day and landing beaches, you will have the choice between different marked trails and routes on 1, 2 ou 3 days.To know everything on the D-Day, the camping recommends visiting de Pour tout savoir sur le Jour-J, le camping vous conseille de visiter the popular landinbg sites, but also the small local museums, mais aussi les petits musées locaux, equally exciting, all along the road to the D-Day landing beaches. From Utah Beach (Sainte Marie du Mont), you can visit the Landing Museum and the Airborne Museum of Sainte-Mère-Église. Near Sword Beach (Ouistreham), you can discover the "Batterie Merville". Around the Omaha Beach area (Colleville sur Mer), the Pointe du Hoc, the D-Day Omaha museum and the American cemetery are among the must-see attractions. In teh surroudings of Gold beach (Arromanches), the Arromanches 360° cinema offers an immersive experience and plunges the spectator into the reality of the Second World War. When joining Juno Beach (Courseulles sur mer), you will be able to visit the only Canadian museum, on the activity of canadian during the d-day as part of the Allies.
